Manu Tuilagi’s World Cup in tatters after pleading guilty to assault on police officer


Manu Tuilagi will miss the World Cup after pleading guilty to assaulting a
woman police officer.



The England centre pleaded guilty to three charges of assault and one of
criminal damage at Leicester magistrates’ court yesterday and paid a total
of £6,205 in fines, compensation, charges and costs.



An incident involving a taxi driver and a police officer took place outside a
nightclub in Leicester’s city centre in April 26.



Stuart Lancaster, the England head coach, warned Tuilagi that if he was found
guilty then he would be excluded from the World Cup squad and today enforced
