Los Pumas Name Side to Face Australia in Jujuy

Four years after their last visit, Los Pumas are set to host Australia at Estadio 23 de Agosto in Jujuy this Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Felipe Contepomi's side enters the two-match series — with the return fixture taking place in Mendoza next week — following a narrow 17-10 defeat to the two-time world champions, South Africa, at Vélez Sarsfield Stadium.

Australia, meanwhile, will arrive in Argentina under new head coach Les Kiss after securing victories over Japan, beating them 35-32 in Osaka and 56-17 in Townsville.

Los Pumas arrived in the capital of Jujuy last Friday and, among other activities, held an open training session at the stadium. The Wallabies trained throughout the week in Buenos Aires before travelling to Jujuy on Friday afternoon.

This will be Los Pumas' third official Test match in Jujuy. In 2017, they defeated Georgia 45-29, while in 2022, on Michael Cheika's debut as head coach, they beat Scotland 26-18.

Following last weekend's match against South Africa at Vélez, Los Pumas have made no changes to their starting XV. There is, however, a change to the bench, which will now feature five forwards and three backs, with the inclusion of Rodrigo Martínez and Nicolás Roger among the notable changes.
