Lions Watch: Back Row
Ahead of the Lions tour to New Zealand next summer, we look at the options available to Warren Gatland next summer. This week we look at the back row.
Who would you start against the All Blacks?
Sean O'Brien
The big ball carrier put in a powerful performance against the All Blacks at the weekend and with Gatland in the stands, proved he can more than handle himself against the number 1 side in the world. Keeps up that form and should be in the starting XV
Billy Vunipola

The world rugby player of the year nominee has shone in the last year with his powerful performances for both Saracens and England. If he keeps up his current success, it's hard to see him not starting.
Sam Warburton
Has struggled with injury in the last 3 years but can't ignore his history with the Lions. The 1st captain to lead the Lions to a tour victory in 12 years. Is a shoe in for the tour if fit but will be set for a battle for a starting berth.
Jamie Heaslip

Likewise with Vunipola, nominated for world player of the year and has enjoyed a good run of form in the green jersey. Brings experience, with already being on 2 tours in 2009 and 2013. Would be tough to see Gatland not bringing someone with his experience to NZ.
Chris Robshaw
Missed out last time round, but has reinvented himself under Eddie Jones in his preferred 6 position. Superb work rate round the field, is one of many options for Gatland.
Dan Lydiate

Gatland knows him well through Wales and knows what he brings to a game. Has that vital Lions experience, starting 2 games in 2013 against Australia.
John Barclay
Scotland's representative comes in the form of John Barclay. An outside shot but his versatility across the back row is something not to be ignored.
