Lions outlast Cheetahs

The Emirates Lions kept themselves in the hunt for the South African conference with an entertaining 34-29 win over the Toyota Cheetahs in Johannesburg on Saturday night.


In an eight try fest, the Lions dominated most of the game, but couldn’t quite get ahead, and eventually had to stave off a late Cheetahs fighthback to get the win.


The difference in the end was the boot of Elton Jantjies, who converted all four tries and kicked two penalties.
