The Lions secured a convincing 35-19 victory over Ospreys in their United Rugby Championship Round 2 clash at Ellis Park on Saturday.
The hosts made a strong start, with Chris Smith opening the scoring through an early penalty before Erich Cronje crossed for the Lions' first try. Ospreys responded through Keiran Williams and Efan Daniel, with the latter scoring from a driving maul just before half-time to give the visitors a narrow 12-10 lead.
The Lions came out firing after the break, with hooker PJ Botha and Morne Brandon scoring from driving mauls to regain control. Boeta Chamberlain extended the advantage with a well-worked try before Kelly Mpeku crossed twice in quick succession, taking the Lions' lead to 35-12.
Ospreys managed a late consolation try through Ross Moriarty in the closing moments, with Dan Edwards adding the conversion. However, the Lions had already done enough to secure a comfortable 16-point win, continuing their strong home performance.
