Late Finn Russell Magic Fires Racing 92 Into The Champions Cup Final

Finn Russell and Virmie Vakatawa set Juan Imhoff up for one of the great Champions Cup tries as Racing 92 reached their third Champions Cup final following a 19-15 triumph over Saracens in Paris on Saturday.

Saracens looked to have booked their place in the final during the latter stages of the game but Finn Russell produced his moment of magic to steal a place in the final.

Russell had been shut down for large periods of the game against the imposing Saracens defence until a deft kick over the top of Saracens' advancing line for centre Virimi Vakatawa to gather on the full set up the match winning try.

Vakatawa found Russell in support on the inside and Scottish flyhalf calmly set Juan Imhoff on his way to score in the 76th minute.

Alex Goode slotted five penalties for the defending champions, who had their chances to score a try of their but came up short. Saracens lead 15-12 in the closing 10 minutes before Imhoff's try.

A testing first half saw Racing lead 9-6 thanks to three penalties from the boot of Teddy Iribaren with Maxime Machenaud keeping Racing in touch after three early penalties to Saracens in the first half.

Racing 92 will now face either Exeter or Toulouse in the Champions Cup Final.
