Lambie requests release from Bok contract

According to Netwerk 24 Pat Lambie has asked to be released from his joint contract with the Springboks and Sharks.

The flyhalf, who has not played since 13 May due to concussion issues, has been linked to Top 14 side Racing 92 in France.

Lambie is recovering well and is set to return to the playing field soon.

'I'm training again, but am not making contact yet,' Lambie told East Coast Radio. 'I will talk to the doctor again soon and hope to get the necessary approval to return to the field. We will then decide on the way forward.'
