Kurtley Beale cops three week ban for high tackle

Kurtley Beale will miss Racing 92's Champions Cup quarter-final against Clermont on Satuday.

The verstile back has been handed a three-match suspension for a high tackle on Arthur Vincent in Racing 92's win over Montpellier in round two of the Top 14.

Beale, who was starting in just his second game and first home game for the Paris-based outfit was sent off in the 62nd minute of Racing's 41-17 win over Montpellier.

The Disciplinary panel found that Beale's tackle was a mid-range offence that warranted a 6-week suspension but due to the player showing remorse as well as immediately admitting his guilty along with a clean disciplinary record, Beale's suspension was halved.

The 31-year-old absence against Clermont means that Racing will be without two of their front line fullbacks with Simon Zebo sidelined with a foot injury.

Beale will also miss the Champions Cup semi-final if Racing manages to beat Clermont and will also miss their next Top 14 match against La Rochelle.
