Gloucester Rugby is pleased to reveal that tighthead prop, Kirill Gotovtsev, has extended his time at Kingsholm.
Gotovtsev had an unusual journey to professional rugby, with successful spells in wrestling and bobsled before taking up the sport.
He joined Gloucester Rugby in 2021 and has gone on to make 55 appearances for the Club.
The tighthead has also won international honours, representing his country 12 times, including at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Gotovtsev has played in 16 games already this season, playing an important role in Gloucester’s impressive scrummaging performances, under the guidance of Trevor Woodman.
Gloucester Rugby Director of Rugby, George Skivington, commented:
“Kirill has been a great player for us at set-piece and around the field, so we’re delighted to keep him here at Kingsholm.
“Our scrum has been particularly impressive, not just this season, but for the last couple of years, and Kirill has played a huge role in that.”
