JWC: Scotland have improved from last year - Hutchinson
Scotland U20 prospect Rory Hutchison believes the side have continued their improvement at this year’s U20 World Championship.

Speaking to his club’s website, Northampton Saints, the young fly-half revealed that the conditions have been a challenge for the squad, with plenty of time in pool recovering from matches along with doing everything possible to prevent heat stroke.

Hutchison added that his family had been out to watch the matches, including Wednesday’s excellent victory over Argentina.

Noticing the improvement in Scotland’s play this year compared to 2014, Hutchison is excited about the prospect of facing Australia in the fifth-place semi-final on Monday.

“Last year we didn’t have the best year, winning one out of 10, but we knew we could bounce back. We’ve turned it around a bit, finishing third in the Six Nations, and have proven a few things this year,” said Hutchison.

“We were unlucky against Ireland and were good against Argentina, but New Zealand were excellent. We made a lot of errors and our heads fell after half-time. We were in it before half-time, but gave it away after the break.

“I’ve never played Australia and we’ve not played them in a few years. It’s going to be going to be good to come up against the Wallabies. We’ll be looking at them over the weekend.”
