JWC: Baby Boks ready & rested for England clash
The Junior Boks are rested and ready for Monday’s U20 World Championship semi-final with England, according to coach Dawie Theron.
South Africa came through the pool stages with three wins from their three matches, including an emphatic 46-13 victory over Australia in the final game to book top spot in Pool B.
As a result of finishing with 15 points in the group they qualified as top seeds, setting up a semi-final with fourth seeds and last year’s winners, England.
Monday will be a re-match for the two sides for the first time since England defeated the Boks to win last year’s championship in New Zealand.
Praising the fitness of the squad and how the group have adapted to conditions in Italy, Theron had no complaints.
“The spirit in the camp is very good and we have managed to find a good balance in terms of our preparations. The heat, humidity and travel time between matches meant we had to adjust our activity schedule according to the local conditions."
