JWC: Wales wont take Japan lightly
Wales won’t be underestimating the threat posed by Japan when the two sides meet on Wednesday in the U20 World Championship.

Defeats to France and England have damaged Welsh hopes of making the semi-finals, but victory could take them through to the play-offs in the battle for 5th place.

Three changes and one positional switch have been made by Wales, with Ryan Elias, Seb Davies and Elis-Wyn Benham coming into the starting XV and Tom Phillips moving to number eight.

Having analysed their last defeat Wales are ready to move on and to produce their best rugby of the tournament so far on Wednesday.

“We have reviewed the England game, looked at our defensive weaknesses in the first 30 minutes especially and how to improve them. It is time to move on to the Japan game now, and we are certainly not taking them lightly,” said coach Allan Lewis.

“They pose a threat, especially with the ball in hand, they attack from anywhere so it is vital we concentrate on producing a good performance that secures a win first and foremost. If we manage that and to score some tries, we will look at bonus points and points difference but we must get that win first.
