Jonny May says being dropped by England made him stronger and a 'better player'
“Absolute chaos” was how England assistant coach Mike Catt described it when asked about Jonny May.
And he was not talking about the New Zealand defence when May scored his wonder try against them at Twickenham last autumn.
Rather, Catt, at the England training squad announcement last Wednesday, was talking about the impact May had been having recently in Gloucester’s colours.
And Catt is right.
May has been having that effect, so there was little doubt that he would be named as one of the six wingers in that 50-man squad for the Rugby World Cup.
