Jim Mallinder poised to ignore Wales over George North’s fitness
- 521
Jim Mallinder, the Northampton Saints director of rugby, has accused Warren Gatland of playing “mind games” over the fitness of George North.
The Wales wing has not played since March 27, when he was knocked out in a collision with Nathan Hughes, the Wasps No 8.
It was North’s fourth head injury in five months and Gatland said last weekend that he was “hugely worried” about the 23-year-old.
Gatland wants North to be rested for the rest of the season, fearing that one more head injury could rule him out of the World Cup, but Mallinder will not be dictated
