Jersey Reds sign Nick Scott
- 2000
Jersey Reds have announced the signing of 26 year old winger/centre Nick Scott, for the rest of the season.
Scott started his career at Newbury before he spent two years at Bath and three seasons at London Welsh. Scott was most recently on a short loan at Sale Sharks from Welsh side Newport Gwent Dragons.
Harvey Biljon, head coach said: "Nick's a pedigree player with considerable experience in the Premiership, Championship and Pro 12; he hasn't played much rugby so far this season - he's really keen to get out on the pitch and get stuck in over the coming weeks.
"Nick's availability came at a good time for both the club and himself, with Heath Stevens leaving us. Heath had the offer of a really good opportunity to start preparing for life beyond rugby and I appreciate his reasons for wanting to make the move - we wish him all the best."
Loosehead prop Marc Thomas has mean while left Jersey Reds along with Heath Stevens. Thomas has returned to his home country Wales having signed a deal with Cardiff Blues.
Another player who has left St Peter is loose-head prop Marc Thomas, who was offered an opportunity back in his native Wales. Thomas signed a contract with Cardiff Blues, and made his debut in last week's Anglo-Welsh Cup tie against Sale Sharks.
Biljon commented on the front rower saying:
"We're disappointed to lose Marc, but the Blues have had injuries in the front row this season and this was an opportunity for him to move back home and get established as a Pro 12 player," said Biljon.
Thomas, 26, made 13 Championship and one British & Irish Cup appearance for the Reds this season, scoring two tries.
