Japan-based Boks given the greenlight for Twickenham showdown

South Africa will have their Japanese-based stars available for selection when they tackle England at Twickenham on 26 November.

The replay of the 2019 Rugby World Cup final falls outside of World Rugby's test window.

This means that any overseas-based players would need permission from their clubs to take part in the fixture, permission that has reportedly been granted by the Japanese clubs.

According to Afrikaans newspaper the Rapport, the Japanese clubs have given the thumbs up for the Bok stars to feature in the match while adding that RG Snyman is on track to return to action by that stage.

While Snyman is on track to feature during the November tests, it is unlikely that he will play against England as it is understood that him and Duane Vermeulen won't be given permission by their clubs (Munster and Ulster) and the IRFU.

With the Japanese clubs allowing their stars to play the fixture, Jacques Nienaber will be free to select the likes of Kwagga Smith, Damian de Allende, Faf de Klerk, Lood de Jager, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Malcolm Marx, Jesse Kriel, Willie le Roux and Franco Mostert.

The Premiership clubs are also unlikely to allow their South Africans to feature meaning Jasper Wiese, Handre Pollard and Andre Esterhuizen will be out the mix.

The same will more than likely apply to the players in France which includes Cheslin Kolbe, Trevor Nyakane, Rynhardt Elstadt, and Warrick Gelant, the latter already ruling himself out of the entire test window to settle in at Racing 92.
