Jack Nowell leaves England camp following injury

England Rugby have issued a statement confirming that Exeter Chiefs' Jack Nowell has left the England camp to return home for a routine surgical review of his ankle.

The winger will continue his rehabilitation in England while the squad are in Treviso until the end of the week (August 2nd).

Nowell suffered the ankle injury in the Premiership Final against Saracens and Exeter Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter issued an update at the time saying: “Jack has had an operation on his ankle and at this stage we see no reason why it should jeopardise him being involved with England at the Rugby World Cup nor with us heading into the new season.”
