Gloucester Rugby is delighted to reveal that back-row, Jack Clement, has signed a contract extension with the Club.
Clement, who can play across the back row, has been one of the standout players in Cherry & White this season.
A talented all-round sportsman in his youth, Clement began his rugby journey at Bournside School in Cheltenham when he was 14 years old. He continued to play rugby when he moved to Cheltenham College, where he went on to captain their first XV.
Whilst at Cheltenham College, Clement joined the Gloucester Rugby Academy at 17 years old, where he climbed through the ranks alongside players such as Louis Rees-Zammit and Stephen Varney.
He’s also won international honours at England U18s and U20s level, winning a U20s Six Nations Grand Slam in 2021.
Clement was earmarked as a player with high potential by George Skivington, when he joined the Club in 2020. The back row has gone on to make 83 Cherry & White appearances to date.
Skivington commented:
“When I first came in, we could see that Jack had all the attributes to become a great player.”
“He’s worked really hard in a very competitive back row and has been very impressive this season so far.
“The most exciting thing for us, is that he’s still not reached his potential, and he’s only going to get better from playing more and learning from the more experienced back row players at the Club.”
