Irish Rugby Player of the Year Nominees Announced

Rory Best (Ulster), Robbie Henshaw (Connacht), Jack McGrath (Leinster) and CJ Stander (Munster) have been nominated for IRUPA Players’ Player of the Year Award, making it the first time that players from all four provinces are represented.

Nominees are chosen by their by their fellow professionals and consistent performance across the Pro 12, Champions Cup, Challenge Cup, World Cup and Six Nations is considered.

The Nevin Spence Young Player of the Year will also be announced at the awards ceremony on 4 May. The nominees on the shortlist for this award, which has been picked up by Robbie Henshaw for the past three years, are Josh Van Der Flier (Leinster), Gary Ringrose (Leinster) and Stuart McCloskey (Ulster). All three players have had an exceptional season, with Van Der Flier and McCloskey making their debuts for Ireland in the Six Nations.
