We take a look at the three stand out players as Ireland created history in Chicago tonight defeating the All Blacks
Conor Murray
The Munster scrum half was incredible throughout this game. His distribution was excellent, and his box kicking put pressure on the All Blacks time and time again. He scored a fantastic try just before half time extending our lead before we went into the break. He even stepped p and slotted a penalty after Sexton was forced off through injury. However, the highlight of his performance was the huge tackle he put in on Savea forcing him into touch in his own in goal area resulting in a 5m scrum which set the platform for Henshaw’s final try.
CJ Stander
CJ Stander again proved why he is always one of the first names on the team sheet with an immense back row display. He carried powerfully and purposefully throughout this international clash driving the All Black defenders back again and again. He was as solid as a rock in defence making countless tackles and forcing handling errors from the Kiwis. He capped off this magnificent performance with a well-earned try in the first half, once more displaying his power and determination as he barrelled over the whitewash.
Robbie Henshaw
The young outside centre put in arguably his best performance in an Irish shirt to date today against the All Blacks. He presented a constant threat to New Zealand with his direct pacey running and his ability to carve out beautiful attacking lines, exploiting spaces in areas it seemed there was none. The icing on the cake for his performance was the try he scored after 76 minutes, securing a well-earned, historic victory for the Irish.
