IKEA To Build Around AJ Bell As Loans Mount Up

The AJ Bell Stadium is set to benefit from another £1 million in funding, taking the overall total of loans to over £25 million, as the land next to the ground is close to being sold to IKEA. The Swedish furnishing firm is preparing to purchase part of the 42-acre site surrounding the stadium and Salford Council has revealed that it is to loan the stadium company (jointly owned by the council and Peel Holdings) another £942,500 and that figure will be matched by Peel Holdings.
