If you think the England v France match was good take a look at the Bledisloe Cup match in 2000
After we were treated to a spectacular game of Rugby on Saturday with England defeating France 55-35 lets take a look at another high scoring affair that took place in Sydney in the year 2000 in the Bledisloe Cup where Australia took on New Zealand. The game got off to a flyer with the All Blacks scoring three tries in the opening five minutes to lead 21-0 with Tana Umaga, Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen the try scorers. The Wallabies were looking to respond and they did just that with Stirling Mortlock scoring two tries with Chris Latham adding a third before Roff drew the sides level at 24-24 with a try in the corner. As we made our way into the second half Mortlock put Australia back in front with a penalty. However from the restart the All Blacks responded with Marshall going over in the corner after a superb solo effort. The sides exchanged penalties with New Zealand leading 34-30 and with 8 minutes remaining the Wallabies looked to have won the game with Jeremy Paul going over the whitewash. However just when the Wallabies thought they were about to hang onto a famous win the All Blacks struck two minutes from time with Jonah Lomu going over in the corner to break Australia's hearts with New Zealand in the end winning 39-35.
