The French Barbarians held onto their 4-point lead despite being a man down for the final 10 minutes of the match. The home side scored the opening try of the match through Chouzenoux and went into halftime with an 8-3 lead over the New Zealanders. The Maori All Blacks struck first in the second half when Sean Wainui went over but his try was cancelled out by Adrien Pelissie minutes later. Jordan Manihera was then sin-binned for a dangerous clean out and N'tmack added two penalties to give the home side a 19-8 lead with 12 minutes left to play. The Maori All Blacks were awarded a penalty try in final 10 minutes and Antoine Tichit was given his marching orders. The French then held onto their lead despite some pressure from the New Zealanders.
