Fiji started the second half as they did the first, with an early try extending their advantage to 21-12. Australia pulled three points back with a penalty before crossing for their third try to trail by just a single point. Fiji then picked up a yellow card with 20 minutes to play, with Australia capitalizing on their numerical advantage to score two tries to hit the front 32-21. Australia would put the final nail in the coffin, going over for a sixth try to seal a hard fought victory.
