Highlanders Secure Core Group as Players Back the Club's Future

The Highlanders continue to consolidate the future of the club, with 15 players committing their futures to the organisation as an indication of the positivity around the direction the team is heading. The group includes breakthrough stars, emerging talent, experienced leaders and international campaigners, providing a strong foundation as the Highlanders continue to build towards sustained success.

Among the players committing long-term are Lucas Casey, Dylan Pledger, Veveni Lasaqa and Mika Muliaina, who have all extended their contracts through until 2029. Exciting young talent Finn Hurley, Caleb Tangitau, Adam Lennox, Sean Withy, Will Stodart, Josh Tengblad, Jack Taylor and Josh Bartlett have committed through until at least 2028, while experienced internationals Angus Ta'avao, Henry Bell and Tomás Lavanini have re-signed through until 2027.

Highlanders CEO Roger Clark said the extensions reflected the confidence players have in the direction of the club and the environment being created under Head Coach Jamie Joseph and his coaching team.

"What excites us about this group is the mix of experience, youth and leadership they represent. Players have options in today's game and the fact so many have chosen to commit to the Highlanders speaks to the belief they have in where we're heading."

"We're not getting carried away, but we're excited about the foundations being put in place. These extensions give us continuity, leadership and talent to build around, and they reinforce our confidence that we're moving in the right direction."
