Harlequins win but miss out on the Quarter Finals by 1 point

Harlequins needed to turn on the style and skill if they were to march on into the Champions Cup quarter finals as they had to make up a deficit against Montpellier who had made 14 changes to their side that earned a good home win last week.

Here are the key moments from the game:

1' Huw Jones Try:

Harlequins hit the ground running and launched into action as Smith puts Dombrandt away who makes it to the 22 before playing Jones for the opening try. The deficit is reduced to just 7 points

10' Yvan Reilhac Try:

Foursans with a great show and go followed up by a neat offload to Reilhac showing that Montpellier are still in the fight despite wholesale changes to their matchday side

29' Joe Marchant Try:

Danny Care shows superb skills to keep a kick in play inside his 22. He passes to Smith wh spots a gap and hits the after burners into space, sending it wide to Murley who is in acres of space with Marchant in support. Simple draw and pass to beat the last man. Quins now trail by just 3 on aggregate.

32' Julien Tisseron Try:

Montpellier will not give up without a fight and prove they are not going to just lie down. Foursans spots Tisseron out wide and open and puts in a perfect kick pass.

54' Handre Pollard Penalty:

Maul penalty won by Montpellier scoring the first points of the second half and pushing their aggregate lead out to 6 points

67' Jeremie Maurouard Yellow Card:

Key moment in the game as Montpellier are pinned back 5m from their line, Harlequins persist with asking for a scrum as they hunt a try but Marcus Smith scores after Montpellier are blocked in midfield. Opportunity lost for the home side.

75' Louis Lynagh Try:

Quins finally get over as Lynagh scores his second of the game. Smith with a short pass to the big winger. Smith misses the conversion as Quins trail by just 1 aggregate point.

79' Geoffrey Doumayrou Intercept:

Harlequins are attacking from deep in their half and create an overlap but a turning Doumayrou sticks out his hands to intercept the ball but is quickly wrapped up. This essentially wraps up the game for Montpellier.
