1. Ed Byrne - Leinster Rugby
Gained the upper hand at scrum time, was also busy in the loose with 7 carries and made all of his tackles.
2. George Turner - Glasgow Warriors
The Scotland hooker put in a massive effort for Glasgow on Saturday night against the Scarlets despite his side going down to 14-men after 18 minutes. Turner was hungry for work rate on both sides of the ball and ended the game with 16 carries and completed six tackles to halt a four-game losing streak to the Welsh side.
3. Marty Moore - Ulster Rugby
The Ulster pack’s scrummaging was excellent and Moore was at the forefront of that effort as he anchored the set-piece superbly.
4. Scott Fardy - Leinster Rugby
The stand-in captain once again outlined why he is one of the most versatile and important members of Leo Cullen's record breaking squad. The Wallaby marshalled his young troops around the heavy Rodney Parade pitch with intent and made sure every player stuck to their core duties. He scored a try, carried 9 times and completed 8 tackles in defence to cap off a Man of the Match award winning performance.
5 Alun-Wyn Jones - Ospreys
Straight back into the Ospreys set-up following a very successful Autumn campaign with Wales. Jones hit the ground running on his return to the Liberty Stadium to help secure a bonus point victory over Zebre. Had a try ruled out by the TMO in the second half which he fully deserved for his efforts. He carried on 15 occasions, beat two defenders and was a constant thorn in the Italian's side.
6. Jarrad Butler - Connacht
Led the Western province by example throughout his lung busting 80 minute run out in Bloemfontein. Butler epitomises everything that Head Coach Andy Friend is trying to instill in the 2015/16 champions' squad. The former Brumby is a very complete player who combines the grunt with subtle touches around the field to full effect. He was a very deserved winner of the Man of the Match award as Connacht ensured back to back wins in South Africa.
7. Marcell Coetzee - Ulster Rugby
Watching the Springbok in full flight this season has been a wonderful sight as he appears to have left his injury ridden spell behind him. The marquee signing impressed with his work rate in defence as he chipped in with 18 completed tackles and won three turnovers which helped swing the balance in favour of the home side. He combined well with Irish internationals Jordi Murphy and Sean Reidy in a dynamic back row for Ulster.
8. Caelan Doris - Leinster
The Leinster Academy graduate was outstanding on his fifth appearance as he notched his first try for the club after an impressive 80 minute shift where he made 18 carries for a gain of 55 metres and never shirked from his defensive duties as he chipped in with 12 forceful tackles. The imposing Number eight shone with his ball-carrying power and ability to consistently make progress over the advantage line.
9. John Cooney - Ulster Rugby
The 'Petit General' of Ravenhill claimed another Man of the Match award for his goal kicking exploits as Ulster notched a vital home win over Cardiff Blues on Saturday. Fresh off the back of two positive performances in the Irish shirt, Cooney kicked 11 of Ulster's 16 points including two penalties in the second forty to secure the victory.
10. Brandon Thomson - Glasgow Warriors
The South African fly half was superb with his game management, distributing and goal kicking during Glasgow Warriors narrow win over Scarlets at Scotstoun. The former Springbok U20 kicked 24 points for a 78% success rate off the tee and was a threat with ball in hand as he gained 35 metres.
11. Luke Morgan - Ospreys Rugby
The Sevens star's smooth transition into the 15's a side game continued as he crossed for a hat trick against Zebre to take his total for the season to six. He carried for 78 metres with ball in hand and beat three defenders as he staked a claim for Six Nations squad inclusion next month.
12. Tom Farrell - Connacht Rugby
Having trained with Ireland for the first time in Carton House in November, Farrell continued his ascent in the Connacht green as he crossed for a sensational solo effort try in the first half of Connacht's win in Bloemfontein. The former Leinster centre combined with Kyle Godwin in midfield to devastating effect as they partnered up to nullify the Cheetahs attack.
13. Chris Farrell - Munster Rugby
The rangy Irish centre made his first start since a Man of the Match Six Nations performance against Wales in February and certainly made up for lost time scoring two tries for the Southern province. Farrell got his side over the gain line with some massive carries as he terrorised the Edinburgh defensive line. He missed 5 tackles which was the only blot on his copybook but it was a very promising effort with larger tasks awaiting ahead.
14. Keith Earls - Munster Rugby
Three tries in 8 minutes helped write Earls into the history books as he claimed the fastest hat trick in the professional era for Munster.
15. Matthew Morgan - Cardiff Blues
The diminutive No. 15 proved to a constant danger for the Ulster defence in their narrow defeat to Ulster in Belfast. He crossed for a well taken try and gained 63 metres with ball in hand, beating two defenders and making a clean break.
