Grenoble Season Review

Grenoble Season Review

With one round of Top 14 action left to play we review Grenoble's season. The French side that was led by Mike Prendergast and Aaron Dundon following the departure of Bernard Jackman will be joining Bayonne in the Pro D2 next season, following a disappointing season.

Grenoble survived last season, despite having a -174 points difference, this year, however, they were only able to win 6 matches beating Castres, Racing 92, Stade Francais, Toulouse, Clermont and Bayonne. Their inability to come out on top the main reason for their drop as they drew to Toulon and lost 7 games by less than 5 points.

Jonathan Wisniewski was a silver lining in the Grenoble season as he scored 204 points in his 19 matches for the club and will be a solid performer for the Pro D2 if he remains at the club next season.

Despite their defensive struggles, Grenoble was particularly efficient on attack averaging just over 2 tries a match.

Grenoble face Lyon in the final match in the 2016/17 season.
