The Lions Rugby Co. have confirmed that Springbok flanker Jaco Kriel will join former Lions coach Johan Ackermann at English Premiership side Gloucester at the end of the Super Rugby season.
Kriel hasn't played for the Lions this season after suffering an injury during the 2017 International season.
Kriel played 69 Super Rugby matches for the Lions scoring 21 tries. His form for the Lions earned him a test call up and he made his debut off the bench against Ireland in 2016.
During his time with the Lions Kriel helped the side two Super Rugby finals, captaining the side in the second final, and captained the side to Currie Cup title.
Lions Rugby Company (Pty) Ltd can confirm Jaco Kriel has committed to a contract with UK based Gloucester.
We wish Jaco a speedy recovery and rehabilitation and hope to see him applying his trade back in South Africa in the future.#LetsUnite pic.twitter.com/DJg8FsQ1gg
