Leicester also have well-chronicled injury problems, with England international quartet Manu Tuilagi, Tom Youngs, Dan Cole and Geoff Parling among those currently unavailable, although they hand debuts to World Cup-winning New Zealand lock Brad Thorn and Italy Test prop Michele Rizzo this weekend.
"Leicester have a few injury problems, but I wouldn't say they were depleted," Gloucester rugby director David Humphreys said.
