Gloucester host the Exiles at Kingsholm
- 1093
After losses in Round 19, both Gloucester and London Irish have regrouped during the break and will put their best foot forward when they face each other of Friday evening at Kingsholm.
The Cherry & Whites took a heavy beating against log-leaders Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate. It was not a surprising result given Bristol’s current prowess, but Gloucester found themselves completely dominated after putting on a good show the weekend before against Northampton.
The Exiles had to contend with Sam Simmonds as well as his teammates as they crashed to a 31-12 loss against the defending champs.
Round 8 will still be in the back of the mind for players of both sides. A late try by Gloucester made the scoreboard look somewhat more respectable from their perspective, but, ultimately, George Skivington’s men were not the best team on the park.
With both teams out of the running as far as the play-offs are concerned, they will be playing for pride and both Gloucester and the Exiles – who each have 6 wins to their names from 19 outings – could use a couple more wins before the competition closes to lend their unimpressive campaigns some respect.
