Friday Round-Up
Chris Ashton - 'I want a game at Twickenham in a white shirt again'

Saracens winger Chris Ashton is confident he can be a hit with Eddie Jones after being included in the new England boss' EPS squad.

Ashton has been out of an England shirt for 18 months but has been in good form domestically for Saracens.

Now back in the squad, Ashton is ready to take his chance.

"I’m dying to get back there. I never gave up on England: it is not in me to do that and was part of the reason I came to union. I cannot let it go easily.

"I am only 28 and I hope I have another four or five years at Saracens, and a few more caps.

“I hope with Eddie coming in and the way he wants to play will suit my strengths. I want a game at Twickenham in a white shirt again.

"When you are left out of the squad you can either lie down with it or you can fight it. The way I’ve been brought up and the way I am, you fight the situation – and if it’s something that you want you’ll work hard enough to get it back. I hope I’m in the position now where I will get that chance again.”

Ulster in for lock Tredwell

Ulster have been linked with a move for young Harlequins lock Kieran Tredwell, according to the Irish Independent.

Tredwell has played for both Ireland and England at underage level. He played for Ireland at u18's then switching over allegiances over to England.

The 20-year-old has been offered the chance to move to Ireland before, turning down moves to Leinster and Ulster before joining Conor O'Shea's side, but Les Kiss appears to have persuaded him to make the move and pursue a place in the Ireland set-up in the coming years.

Definitely one for the future to keep an eye on.
