Jack let go: England head coach Stuart Lancaster has confirmed that several players have left the Engladn camp ahead of this weekend, with a view to featuring on the domestic front for their Aviva Premiership clubs. In particular, winger Jack Nowell has been released by Lancaster, having been overlooked in the opening two games for both Jonny May and Anthony Watson. Havign finished the international training week with the full squad on Thursday, Nowell returned to the Exeter Chiefs setup where he has thrived in recent years, before re-assembling at Pennyhill Park on Monday evening. After a long session with Oxford University, Lancaster opted to release a string of players for this weekend, in order to allow them time to prove themselves ahead of the journey to Dublin in just over a week’s time, for arguably the clash of the Six Nations Championship this year.
Cuthbert in trouble: Welsh winger Alex Cuthbert may face disciplinary action from the national team coaching ticket, after it emerged that the backline member was involved in an incident at the back end of last year. Cuthbert, who has been in poor form for Wales of late, was apparently involved in an altercation with a member of the public in December, from which a video has emerged of him throwing a phone down the street during an argument. Having been angrily confronted by a member of the public, Cuthbert rises to the argument and acts out of normal conduct standards. Wales assistant coach Rob Howley acknowledged the incident and claimed it would be dealt with internally.
