French training suspended after positive Covid test

France have suspended any further training after a player in their current squad returned a positive Covid-19 test.

This brings the total to 11 players from Les Bleus who have picked up the virus since last week.

While the Six Nations said yesterday that France’s fixture against the Scots this weekend would proceed as planned, this new development throws a spanner in the works and the possibility of the game being cancelled/postponed has taken on new relevance.

The French rugby federation tweeted: "The entire group is in isolation in accordance with the health protocol. The FFR is in close contact with the Six Nations Committee."
