Israel Folau has held preliminary talks with Queensland Reds coach Brad Thorn about a potential switch from NSW to Queensland next year, according to Daily Telegraph.
The Reds are the latest club to be linked with the Wallaby star, after English Premiership side Sale Sharks and an NRL offer from Gold Coast Titans.
The 29-year-old current deal with Rugby Australia (RA) comes to a close at the end of the season and the Waratahs are desperate to retain the services of their superstar full-back.
Folau has connections with the state of Queensland, having previously played for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL as well as the Queensland State of Origin side.
Quade Cooper, Karmichael Hunt and Nick Frisby are all contracted to the Reds on expensive deals, while not currently part of Brad Thorn's plans.
The club hope that the talented trio take up deals overseas in order to free up some capital ahead of the next Super Rugby campaign.
