Finn Russell set for Premiership switch?

Finn Russell could leave Racing 92 at the end of the season with Bath now reportedly entering the race for his signature.

Reports from the Daily Mail and Sunday Times say that Bath are in talks with the Scotland international who was rumoured to be off to Japan.

The Times report that Russell could yet extend his stay at Racing 92 or move to another Top 14 club in France.

Russell's contract at Racing 92 expires at the end of the season and is believed to be on a £800,000-a-year contract.

However, it is believed that Racing 92 are keen for Russell to take a substantial pay cut as they attempt to lure All Blacks veteran Beauden Barrett and Springboks captain Siya Kolisi.

Meanwhile, the Times suggest that Bath are willing to let the likes of Piers Francis, Joe Cokanasiga, and Jonathan Joseph depart the club to make space for Russell while his wages will also sit outside the cap as Bath's marquee signing.

It is also reported that La Rochelle are keen on Russell's services and the Ronan O'Gara-led side could be a perfect fit as it is understood that Russell is keen to remain in France following the birth of his first child.
