Fakafanua crowned Super Rugby AUS Player of the Tournament

Exciting Western Force midfielder Boston Fakafanua has been named the Swyftx Super Rugby AUS Player of the Tournament following an outstanding campaign.

The honour continues the 21-year-old’s stellar rise in 2026, having starred for Sydney University in this year’s NSW Shute Shield after making his Super Rugby Pacific debut for the Force in May.

Fakafanua started all four games of the Force’s title-winning Super Rugby AUS campaign at either inside-centre or outside-centre. He scored the game-winning try in the Round 3 win over the NSW Waratahs.

The former Australia U20 international won the top gong ahead of two other Force players, with Nathan Hastie finishing runner-up and veteran Kurtley Beale in third.

Half-back Hastie had an outstanding tournament, finishing as the top try scorer with five, with Beale impressed at fly-half and in the midfield.

The Player of the Tournament selections were made by Rugby Australia High Performance staff across the competition.
