Extended Highlights: Wales v France - Rugby World Cup 2019
Wales moved on into the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup by the slightest of margins as they edged France 20-19 in the quarter-finals. France got off to a dream start with two tries in the opening ten minutes to build a 12-0 lead. Wales hit back with their first try and added a penalty midway through the first half to reduce the deficit to just two points at 12-10. Wales then picked up a yellow card, with France capitalizing immediately on their numerical advantage to cross for their third try and take a 19-10 lead into the halftime break. The game changing moment happened 8 minutes into the second half, as France picked up a red card to play the remainder of the match a player down. Wales added a penalty shortly after to make it a one score ball game at 19-13 heading into the final quarter. France defended valiantly with a player down, but the pressure applied by Wales eventually paid off as they went over for a try with 7 minutes remaining, with the resulting conversion seeing Wales sneak in front and book their spot in the semi-finals where they will play the winner of hosts Japan and South Africa.
