Excellent first half helped Worcester to home win

Worcester Warriors boosted their chances of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Challenge Cup courtesy of a dominant first half display at the Sixways Stadium.
They scored all but three of their points in the opening 40 minutes to give the French visitors too much to do after the break in difficult conditions.
Things had begun brightly for Pau who were on the board after just seven minutes when flanker Ben Mowen crossed and Colin Slade converted.
Winger Josh Adams got Warriors straight back in it from the restart when he sprinted clear for their opening try with fly-half Duncan Weir converting.
Flanker Afafoti Faosilivia then smashed his way over and Weir converted before adding two penalties to give the home side a 13-point buffer at the interval.
Weir was on target with another penalty shortly after the restart and there was no way back for the visitors as play became scrappy in the strong wind and numbing cold.
Worcester visit Ospreys on January 12 while Paul make the journey to Stade Francais a day earlier.
