England 58-15 Fiji - 3 Best Performers

George Ford

Ford was the key man for England today, as he made the right decision time and time again, to put his Fijian opponents under continual pressure. The out-half played with real flair, unleashing his backs on cut-out moves and giving sharp, wide passes to his wingers, setting them up for scores. The Bath man is certainly enjoying the free role given to him by Eddie Jones, as a result of Owen Farrell taking the bulk of the kicking duties. He has definitely put himself in contention for a place on the Lions tour after his last two performances in the white shirt.

Semesa Rokoduguni

The former army star was impressive today, getting his hands on the Man of the Match award and bagging himself two tries. He was handed the task of marshalling the Fijian colossus Nemani Nadolo and certainly didn’t shirk his responsibility. He made many scintillating breaks which put his team on the front foot again and again. His first five pointer was finished fantastically as he showed real pace and power to bounce the Fijian defender and dot down in the corner. His second was relatively more simple as Ford gave him a huge cut-out pass which he gladly received to score untouched in the right hand corner again.

Elliot Daly

The centre-come-winger was a crucial cog in the England machine today as he slotted into the number eleven shirt seamlessly. He got over for an early try which he took superbly. He bamboozled two Fijian defenders, causing them to collide as he ran the ball in from outside the twenty-two. He was used quite effectively by George Ford, coming in-field off of his wing frequently. It was quite interesting to watch him play as almost a second thirteen and he was unlucky to only get over for one score.
