Tadhg Beirne
The Ireland international was a standout for Munster as they became the first team to secure their ticket to the semi-final’s. Beirne performed his core duties to a very high standard despite an early yellow card and returned to the game to stamp his influence on the breakdown and offered his customary high work rate over the course of the 80 minutes. His physicality in defense was evident with successful 16 tackles and a further 8 carries on offense.
Bill Mata
The imposing Fijian is very unfortunate to come away from the game on the losing side. He was fantastic for Edinburgh with ball in hand as he made 25 carries for an incredible gain of 81 metres. He beat two defenders and showed how vital it was to secure his services in the Scottish capital for the next couple of years.
Keith Earls
The winger scored twice to send Munster into their 14th semi final in the Champions Cup. The second try showed the finishing ability of the Ireland stalwart as he calmly dived into the corner to send the red army into the lead. Earls was awarded the Man of the Match award, he made a total gain of 32 metres with ball in hand and caused the Edinburgh tacklers problems throughout the game.
