Brumbies and Wallabies flanker David Pocock is expected to announce on Tuesday afternoon that 2019 will be his last in Australian rugby, reports rugby.com.au.
Pocock will speak at a press conference at 1:30pm AEST Tuesday, along with coach Dan McKellar and CEO Phil Thomson, where he is set to confirm this will be his final season with the Brumbies.
The 31-year-old will also give an update on a calf injury that has sidelined him since March, but was initially picked up in Janaury at a Wallabies camp.
While the Brumbies have not officially confirmed any move, it has been widely speculated that the off-contract Pocock was preparing to either retire or finish his time in Australian rugby after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
The no. 7 is likely to return to the Japanese Top League's Panasonic Wild Knights after the World Cup, fulfilling the final element of a three-year flexible contract he signed back in 2016. Full story
