Confirmed: Josh Strauss to return to South Africa

The Sale Sharks have confirmed that Scotland International Josh Strauss will leave the club with immediate effect.

Strauss has been released from the final year of his contract in Manchester, by mutual agreement, in order to sign for South African Super Rugby franchise the Blue Bulls.

Strauss joined the Sale Sharks in the summer of 2017 after signing from Scottish Pro-14 side Glasgow Warriors and the South African born Number 8 has made 46 appearances in all competitions during his time at the club, scoring five tries in total.

Strauss returns to the country of his birth, signing for the Bulls who are the rivals of the side he captained to Currie Cup glory, The Lions, before making the move abroad.
