Christchurch bids Dan Carter Adeu
Dan Carter is prepared for an emotional goodbye
to the AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Friday when the All Blacks
face Argentina.
Carter is heading to the Top 14 in France to join Racing 92 following the Rugby World Cup, bringing a long stint in Christchurch to an end after many successful years with the Crusaders.
The all-time leading Test points scorer will start at fly-half against los Pumas as New Zealand set out to defend their Rugby Championship crown.
Carter has been busy arranging extra tickets for old friends from his club Southbridge to make Friday’s Test match and while he will stay focused on the job at hand, he knows Friday will be a moving occasion.
“[The support] is one part I love about playing in Christchurch, and have right throughout my career,” Carter told RadioSport.
"Leading into my last games with the Crusaders it didn't really affect me. I was just worried about what I needed to do to help the team perform.
"After the game is when the emotions kick in.”
