The Chiefs have made several changes to the starting team from last weekend which punished the Brumbies 40-19 at Waikato Stadium.
This week, they take on Super Rugby AU champs, the Queensland Reds, who are still in search of their first victory of the current tournament.
In the front row, Samisoni Taukei'aho is replaced by Bradley Slater at hooker while Angus Ta'avao comes in for Sione Mafileo at tighthead.
Michael Brown takes the place of Josh Lord in the number 4 jersey while much excitement surrounds the introduction of Chiefs stalwart Liam Messam who will take the place of Tupou Vaa'i on the blindside flank.
In the backs, Chase Tiatia moves from fullback to left wing, shifting Bailyn Sullivan onto the right while Caleb Trask will wear the number 15 jersey.
