Champions Cup Highlights: Montpellier v Gloucester

14 man Montpellier held on for a 30-27 home win over Gloucester in round 2 of the Champions Cup. Montpellier opened the scoring with a penalty and then crossed for the games first try to lead 10-0. Gloucester got on the board with a penalty, but a second Montpellier try made it 17-3. The Cherry and Whites responded with a much needed first try, but Montpellier would end the half with their third to take a 24-10 advantage into the break. Gloucester got right back into the match with an early second half try, with Montpellier slotting a penalty shortly after to lead 27-17. 15 minutes into the second half Montpellier picked up a red card, with a Gloucester penalty narrowing the gap to seven points with a quarter of the match to play. Montpellier made it a two score ball game with a penalty, but a late Gloucester try gave the visitors a chance to sneak it at the death. The comeback was not to be however as Montpellier held on for their first victory in Pool 5.
