Champions Cup Highlights: Leinster Rugby v Saracens

Saracens held off Leinster to claim a 25-17 win in the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup. The sides traded early penalties, but poor discipline from Leinster followed as Saracens kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further four kicks at goal to open up a 15-3 lead. Saracens then ran in the first try of the match just before halftime to extend their advantage out to 22-3 at the break. A near-perfect opening forty from Saracens, leaving Leinster with a mountain to climb with major issues at scrum time. Leinster came out a different beast in the second half and a try eight minutes in saw them back in the match at 22-10. Momentum had truly swung in Leinsters favour and they went over for their second try of the game to slash the deficit to just five points with a little over 15 minutes to play. Saracens managed to steady the ship but couldn't put the game to bed, missing two penalty attempts at goal in the final 10 minutes. However, the defending champions would eventually put the final nail in the coffin, kicking a late penalty to make it a two-score ball game and seal the victory which saw them march on to the semi-finals where they will square off against the winner of Clermont v Racing.
