Saracens ground out a hard fought 20-10 win over Leinster in the final of the Champions Cup. Leinster opened the scoring with an early penalty to lead 3-0. Saracens picked up a yellow card with a little over ten minutes of the first half to play, with Leinster capitalizing on their numerical advantage with a try to build a 10-0 advantage. Saracens would finish the first half strongly, pulling three points back with a late penalty and then crossing for their first try with the final play of the half to head into the break all square at 10-10. The war of attrition continued in the second half, with some massive hits coming in from both sides. Leinster were reduced to 14 players after picking up a yellow card, with the resulting penalty seeing Saracens in front for the first time in the match heading into the final quarter. Saracens were on top and made full use of their extra player as they crossed for their second try to take control of the game at 20-10 with a little over ten minutes remaining. Leinster were unable to get back into the contest and were kept at bay by some ferocious Saracens defence. Saracens crowned Champions Cup winners for the third time in four seasons.
