Canterbury vs Wellington - Top Performers

Canterbury got their season back on track in round 2 following a round 1 loss to Tasman. It was a hard fought win for the home side, here are your Top Performers

George Bridge - Canterbury:

The outside back, playing at 15 today, put in another world-class performance. He topped the running meters in last years competition and will most likely do so again this year as he carved through gaps in the Wellington defence. He made great tactical reads on attack, none better than his run and pass for the Makene try on the 59th minute.

Du Plessis Kirifi - Wellington:

The flanker, named after Western Province and Springbok legend, Morne du Plessis, was huge today and asked many questions of the Canterbury team. He scored a try off a Goosen break, his first of the season.

Mitchell Drummond - Canterbury:

An unsung hero amongst and a player that sledom, if ever, lets his team down. He directed play and managed the game well from the base of the ruck supplying great ball for Cameron and the backs to capitalise on. A try and countless positive contributions earns him a spot in the Top 3.
