Can the French continue their dominance in Europe

The French national side may be struggling at the moment but that is not to be said about their club sides. As we enter into the quarter-final stages of both the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup, there are three sides still in with a chance of securing a European title with Racing Metro, Clermont Auvergne and reigning champions Toulon playing in quarter-final ties this weekend. From the pool stages these three sides were the top seeded sides after impressive showings and all secured home quarter-finals. With France proving to be such a difficult place to go to pick up a result we could see three French sides in the semi-finals where we could have another all French final like we did in 2013. Overall French sides have won 13 European Cups in both the Heineken Cup and the Challenge Cup and one of the three remaining sides in the Champions Cup will look to make it 14 titles.
